Basic Biology Laboratory is a type of basic laboratory in the Department of Biology. As a basic laboratory, its activities are limited to practical activities for students in Mathematics and Natural Sciences who take basic Biology courses. Practicum activities are coordinated by lecturers who support General Biology courses, Co assistants, and laboratory assistants.

Administrative activities in the basic Bio lab are related to the preparation of material and equipment requirements for practical activities. Requests for materials and tools are adjusted to the number of students taking General Biology courses, adjusted to the number of groups, a maximum of 10 groups per class.

The Basic Biology Laboratory in addition to serving practicum activities for UPB students, also students from other majors around FMIPA Unesa, as well as students from the Universitas Terbuka as a form of Unesa Cooperation. Another activity in the basic biology laboratory is research conducted by lecturers and students for the completion of thesis research.
