The Taxonomy Laboratory is one of the laboratories in the Department of Biology that focuses on tropical biodiversity. Activities carried out in this laboratory include learning, research, and services. This laboratory is equipped with equipment and specimen collections that support its function, namely to develop students' conceptual understanding and intellectual abilities related to biodiversity, develop students' creative thinking and problem-solving abilities and encourage aspects of student scientific thinking and scientific methods.

The learning activities carried out include project-based practicum from the subjects of Animal Systematics, Plant Systematics, and Parasitology. Research activities include student thesis research and lecturer research.


This laboratory also provides facilities or offers plant identification services. In addition, observations and analysis of exploration results in the field can also be carried out in this laboratory.
